//Anti-blocking\\

Get past blocks without building the stack

Every run can use a managed residential or datacenter proxy with no credentials to set up. For sites that fight bots, browsers run on a hosted Chromium with anti-bot fingerprints and Cloudflare Turnstile solving.

//01-Two layers\\

Pick the layer the site needs

Plain HTTP crawlers go through the managed proxy. Browser crawlers can run on the Scrape.ly browser, which brings its own residential proxy.

Managed proxy

For HTTP traffic from any Actor, such as CheerioCrawler or your own requests.

  • Residential (the default) or datacenter IPs, targeted by country.
  • Each run gets its own credentials, which only work from inside that run. There is no account password to leak.
  • Sessions keep related requests on one IP.
  • Bring your own proxy URLs, or mix them with the managed proxy.

Scrape.ly browser

For Playwright and Puppeteer, on sites that block headless browsers.

  • A hosted Chromium with anti-bot fingerprinting, reached over CDP.
  • Solves Cloudflare Turnstile challenges, on by default.
  • Choose the exit country, state, or city and the operating system. Time zone and language follow the location.
  • Turn it on per Actor and rebuild. Your crawler code stays the same.
//02-Managed proxy\\

Pay per GB, nothing to configure

When a run starts, the platform injects the proxy settings into the container and the SDKs read them for you. Existing proxy code works unchanged.

import { Actor, CheerioCrawler } from 'scrapely';

await Actor.main(async () => {
    const proxyConfiguration = await Actor.createProxyConfiguration({
        groups: ['RESIDENTIAL'],
        countryCode: 'US',
    });
    const crawler = new CheerioCrawler({ proxyConfiguration, requestHandler });
    await crawler.run(['https://example.com']);
});

Residential: $2–$4 per GB

The default pool. Real residential IPs, targeted with an ISO country code such as US or DE.

Datacenter: $0.75–$1 per GB

Fast and cheap for sites that don't block datacenter ranges. Set groups: ['DATACENTER'].

Your own proxies

Pass your proxy URLs instead. Traffic to your own proxies is never billed as proxy usage.
//03-Scrape.ly browser\\

A browser that looks like a visitor

With the browser setting on, every browser launch connects to the hosted Chromium, including raw chromium.launch() and puppeteer.launch() calls. Firefox, WebKit, and Camoufox launches are redirected to it too.

import { Actor, PlaywrightCrawler } from 'scrapely';

await Actor.main(async () => {
    const browserConfiguration = await Actor.createBrowserConfiguration({
        countryCode: 'US',
        state: 'California',
        os: 'windows',
    });
    const crawler = new PlaywrightCrawler({ browserConfiguration, requestHandler });
    await crawler.run(['https://example.com']);
});

Location

Country (US by default), state, and city for the browser's residential exit.

Fingerprint

Windows, macOS, or Android. Time zone and language default to the exit country's, or set them yourself.

Cloudflare

Turnstile challenges are solved for you. Turn it off per configuration if you don't need it. An ad blocker is available too.
//04-Billing\\

You only pay for what a run uses

Proxy and browser usage are added to the run's cost and count toward its maximum total charge, so one run can never spend more than you allow.

Proxy traffic

Billed per GB as run usage, at the pool's price.

Browser credits

Session time in 30-second blocks plus the browser's own proxy traffic per MB. That traffic is never billed again as proxy GB.

Who pays

The account that runs the Actor. For a Store Actor, that's the user, not the developer.
