Bright Data pricing depends on which product you buy: residential proxies list at $8 per GB pay as you go ($4 per GB for your first three months with the coupon on the page), datacenter traffic costs $0.60 per GB, and the Web Scraper, Web Unlocker and SERP APIs cost $1.50 per 1,000 successful records or requests. Monthly plans start at $499 and lower the unit price in exchange for a commitment that doesn't roll over.

That makes Bright Data a menu, not a single price. This guide puts every product on one page, explains how the billing works, runs three scenarios with the arithmetic, and shows where Scrape.ly costs less.

Prices checked on 23 October 2026 on Bright Data's pricing pages and docs, linked in each section.

Datasets 1,000 records From $2.50 100K records for $250, one time Free samples

Enterprise plans with custom prices sit above every product. Mobile proxies are sold too, but the mobile pricing page redirected to the general proxy page when we checked, so they are not priced here.

Residential proxy pricing

Bright Data's residential page shows four plans. Each card shows a struck-through list price and a 50% coupon price (code RESIGB50, "50% OFF Residential Proxies for 3 months"):

Plan Included traffic List price per GB With the 3-month coupon
Pay as you go No commitment $8.00 $4.00
$499 a month 141 GB $7.00 $3.50
$999 a month 332 GB $6.00 $3.00
$1,999 a month 798 GB $5.00 $2.50

Two things are easy to miss. The coupon lasts three months, so from month four you pay the list rate. And Bright Data's FAQ says that before you use the residential or mobile network, "a Bright Data representative will ask you to go through a short compliance process also known as a KYC," which may include a video call. Plan a few days for it.

Targeting by country, state, city, ZIP code and ASN is included at no extra charge.

Datacenter and ISP proxy pricing

Datacenter and ISP proxies come in two meters: per GB of traffic, or per IP per month with traffic included.

Datacenter, per GB (pricing page): $0.60 pay as you go, then $499 a month for 1 TB ($0.51/GB), $999 for 2 TB ($0.45/GB) and $1,999 for 5 TB ($0.42/GB).

Datacenter, per IP: shared IPs cost $1.40 each for 10 IPs ($14 a month), $1 for 100, $0.95 for 500 and $0.90 for 1,000. Dedicated IPs cost $2.20, $1.70, $1.50 and $1.30 at the same steps.

ISP proxies (pricing page) are static residential IPs. Shared ISP IPs cost $1.80 each for 10 IPs down to $1.30 for 1,000; dedicated ones $3.50 down to $2.50. Per GB, ISP traffic costs $8 pay as you go, or $499 for 71 GB, $999 for 166 GB and $1,999 for 399 GB.

Web Scraper API, Web Unlocker, SERP API and Browser API pricing

Bright Data's scraping products are priced per successful result, so failed requests cost nothing:

Product Free tier Pay as you go Scale plan
Web Scraper API 5K records a month, no card $1.50 per 1K records $499/mo, 384,000 records, then $1.30 per 1K
Web Unlocker API 5K requests a month $1.50 per 1K requests $499/mo, 383K requests, then $1.30 per 1K
SERP API 5K requests a month, no card $1.50 per 1K requests $499/mo, 380K requests, then $1.30 per 1K
Browser API 5K credits a month (1 GB), no card $8 per GB $499/mo, 71 GB

The Web Scraper API page also advertised 25% off for three months with code APIS25. Its price includes proxies, unblocking and parsing, and Bright Data's own cost calculator calls it "your whole bill." The Browser API runs your Puppeteer, Playwright or Selenium scripts on Bright Data's browsers and bills per GB of traffic.

Bright Data datasets pricing

Bright Data also sells ready-made datasets. Its datasets page describes prices "starting at $2.5/1K records" and calls the 100K-record tier ($250, one time) enough for a proof of concept. A record is one entity, such as one product listing or one company.

How Bright Data billing works

Bright Data runs on a prepaid balance, with monthly commitments on top for the plans:

  • Free tier credits are shared. Every new account gets 5,000 free credits a month across the Web Unlocker, SERP, Web Scraper and Browser APIs and Scraper Studio. One credit is one request or record. They don't roll over, and they stop if you move to a pre-commit plan.
  • Proxies are not in the free tier. Datacenter, ISP and residential proxies get "a separate one-time $2 trial credit (valid 7 days)," plus a $5 bonus when you add a payment method.
  • Commitments are billed on the 1st. The residential FAQ says your monthly commitment is charged automatically on the 1st of every month, and that it "will not roll over to the next month" if you use less.
  • Usage beyond the balance suspends the account. You get an email at 85% of your balance; at 100% "your account will be suspended unless additional funds are added." Bright Data recommends auto-recharge.
  • Bandwidth counts both directions. Billed traffic is request headers and data plus response headers and data.
  • Spend limits are per zone and lag. You can cap a proxy zone's daily spend, but "the zone limit is calculated every 15 minutes," so a zone can run over by up to 15 minutes of usage.

Worked examples: what Bright Data costs

These use only Bright Data's published rates. Run a small test before you budget, because page weight and retries change the numbers.

Example 1: 50 GB of residential traffic a month

Option Calculation Monthly cost
Pay as you go, list price 50 × $8.00 $400.00
Pay as you go, first 3 months with coupon 50 × $4.00 $200.00
$499 plan (141 GB included) Commitment applies even if you use 50 GB $499.00

At 50 GB the plan costs more than pay as you go, because the unused 91 GB don't roll over.

Example 2: 300 GB of residential traffic a month

Option Calculation Monthly cost
Pay as you go, list price 300 × $8.00 $2,400.00
$999 plan (332 GB included) 300 GB fits inside the plan $999.00

The $999 plan is the right choice here, and it works out to $999 ÷ 300 = $3.33 per GB used.

Example 3: 100,000 records from the Web Scraper API

Option Calculation Monthly cost
Pay as you go (100,000 − 5,000 free) ÷ 1,000 × $1.50 $142.50
Scale plan 384,000 records included $499.00

Pay as you go wins below roughly 338,000 records a month ($499 ÷ $1.50 × 1,000, plus the 5,000 free). Above that, Scale is cheaper.

Extra costs to plan for

  • The coupon ends. Residential traffic doubles in price in month four: $4 becomes $8 per GB pay as you go, $3.50 becomes $7 on the $499 plan.
  • Unused commitment is lost. A $499 plan used for 50 GB still costs $499.
  • Every product is priced separately. A pipeline that uses residential proxies, the Unlocker and the Browser API pays three meters, and only the API products share the free credits.
  • Currency. Charges are billed in US dollars. The pages say local-currency amounts are "indicative only," so a card in another currency pays the exchange rate on the day.
  • KYC time. Residential and mobile traffic waits until the compliance check is done.

Bright Data vs Scrape.ly pricing

Scrape.ly is a scraping platform: a Store of 568 ready-made scrapers (Actors), a runtime for your own code, and residential and datacenter proxies built into every run. Here is where it costs less than Bright Data:

Bright Data Scrape.ly
Residential, entry price $8/GB pay as you go ($4 for 3 months with coupon) $4/GB on Free, $3.50/GB on Starter ($19 a month)
Lowest residential rate $5/GB list on the $1,999 plan ($2.50 with coupon) $2/GB on Business ($999 a month)
Residential at the $199 to $499 level $499 for 141 GB ($7/GB list) $2.75/GB on Scale ($199 a month)
Ready-made scrapers Web Scraper API, $1.50 per 1,000 records Store prices per result, e.g. $0.40 per 1,000 Google Maps reviews
Free allowance 5,000 API credits a month, no card; proxies get a one-time $2 trial $5 of usage every month, no card, usable on proxies and Actors
Spend control Daily zone limits (checked every 15 minutes), monthly API spend limits A maximum charge per run that stops the run the moment it is reached

Rerun the two proxy examples on Scrape.ly's rates (each paid plan's price is included as usage credit):

Monthly traffic Bright Data Scrape.ly
50 GB $400 list, $200 with the coupon Starter: 50 × $3.50 = $175.00
300 GB $999 plan Scale: 300 × $2.75 = $825.00

At 50 GB, Scrape.ly is $225 a month below Bright Data's list price and still $25 below the coupon price. At 300 GB, it saves $174 a month. Both Scrape.ly totals include the plan fee. See the proxy prices for every plan.

Store Actors beat the Web Scraper API's $1.50 per 1,000 records on many common jobs. Each Actor's page shows its price per result, and platform usage (compute, proxy, storage) comes on top. In our runs that added 3.5 to 22 cents per 1,000 results:

  • Google Maps Reviews Scraper: $0.40 per 1,000 reviews. Our run on 22 October 2026 saved 5 reviews for $0.002177 all in, platform usage included.
  • Amazon Product Scraper: $0.70 per 1,000 products. Our 5-product run on 22 October 2026 took 6.1 seconds and was charged $0.004583 in total, or $0.92 per 1,000 with compute and proxy included.
  • Website Content Crawler: $0.50 per 1,000 crawled pages, returned as clean text or Markdown.

Every run draws from a prepaid US-dollar balance, and you can set maxTotalChargeUsd on any run. That cap covers everything the run can cost (compute, proxy, storage, browser and the Actor's fee) and stops the run when it is reached. The run options docs show how. All plan prices and rates are on the pricing page, and the full feature comparison is in Scrape.ly vs Bright Data.

If you are ready to move, Bright Data alternatives compares the other options and walks through the switch.

FAQ

How much does Bright Data cost per month?

There is no single monthly price. Pay as you go has no minimum: residential traffic costs $8 per GB at list price, and the APIs $1.50 per 1,000 results. Monthly plans for each product start at $499 and go up to $1,999 before Enterprise.

Does Bright Data have a free tier?

Yes, for its APIs. New accounts get 5,000 free credits a month across the Web Unlocker, SERP, Web Scraper and Browser APIs, with no card. Proxies are not included; they get a one-time $2 trial credit valid for 7 days.

How much are Bright Data residential proxies per GB?

$8 per GB pay as you go, $7 on the $499 plan, $6 on the $999 plan and $5 on the $1,999 plan. With the RESIGB50 coupon, those rates are halved for the first three months.

Do unused Bright Data funds roll over?

Monthly commitments don't. If your usage is below the commitment, the difference is not carried into the next month. Free API credits also reset on the 1st.

Is Bright Data pay as you go?

Yes. Every proxy type and the Web Unlocker, Web Scraper and SERP APIs have a pay-as-you-go option with no commitment. The per-unit price is higher than on the monthly plans.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Bright Data?

For scraping jobs, yes. Scrape.ly's residential proxy traffic costs $2 to $4 per GB without a traffic commitment, and Store Actors such as the Google Maps Reviews Scraper charge $0.40 per 1,000 results, with $5 of free usage every month.
