What this example returns

This example returns up to 10 results.

The dataset’s “Author profiles” view shows 12 columns: Photo, Name, Affiliation, Email domain, Interests, Citations, h-index, i10-index, Citations (5y), h-index (5y), Articles, and Profile. See every output field.

What each setting does

The input this example runs Google Scholar Scraper with. “Try this input” opens it in the console, where you can run it as-is or change any field first.

Search queries queries

large language models

Keywords to search on Google Scholar, one per line. Scholar operators work (author:"lecun", source:nature, intitle:, "exact phrase"). You can also paste Google Scholar search links; an "All versions" link (cluster=) reads Scholar's pages, which is slower.

Maximum papers per search maxResults

10

Most papers to save for each query or cited-by list. Scholar shows at most 1,000 results per search. 0 means up to 1,000.

Default: 20 → this example uses 10

Sort by sortBy

Relevance

Relevance (Scholar's default) or date (papers added in the last year, newest first).

Include citation-only records includeCitations

No

Keep [CITATION] entries that Scholar knows only from reference lists.

Default: Yes → this example uses No

Include patents includePatents

No

Also return patents in searches.

Review articles only reviewArticlesOnly

No

Only review articles.

Articles per author profile maxArticlesPerAuthor

5

How many of the author's articles to include in the profile row. 0 saves the profile without articles. At most 5,000, because the articles are stored inside the profile row and one row must stay under the platform's 10 MB item size.

Default: 20 → this example uses 5

Sort author articles by articleSort

Most cited

Author profile links (slower) authorProfileLinks

Yes

Fill Author profiles (Scholar author ids and profile links from each paper's byline) by reading Scholar's own result pages. Off: searches use fast search, which is much quicker and steadier but returns the byline as text only, so Author profiles stays empty. Author profile rows (the Author profiles input) are not…

Default: No → this example uses Yes

Interface language language

en

Google Scholar interface language (hl), e.g. en, de, fr. Affects labels such as venue names, not which papers are found.
