Claude Desktop

Add Scrape.ly to Claude as a custom connector.

Add Scrape.ly to Claude as a custom connector: in a chat, Claude can search the Store, run Actors, wait for their runs, and read the results. It connects to the hosted MCP server and signs in with OAuth, so there is no token to copy. The connector is saved to your Claude account, so it works in Claude Desktop and on claude.ai.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan. The Free plan allows one.

Add the connector

On Pro and Max:

  1. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Scrape.ly, set the server URL to https://mcp.scrape.ly, and click Continue.
  3. Under Authentication, choose Sign in now, keep the suggested OAuth client, and click Add.
  4. A dashboard window opens where you approve access, and the connector is turned on.

On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it once under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web with the same URL. Each member then opens Customize → Connectors, finds Scrape.ly, and clicks Connect to sign in with their own account.

Claude can do anything your account can, including starting paid runs. A Max charge per day applies only to API keys, not to an OAuth sign-in, so put limits in your question.

Use it in a chat

Turn the connector on with the + button in the lower left of the chat, under Connectors, then ask:

.text
Find an Actor that scrapes Google Maps, run it for 'coffee shops in Berlin' with at most 20 results, and list the name, rating, and address of each place.

What the assistant can do

The assistant gets the MCP server's default tools. The ones used most:

ToolWhat it does
search-actorsFind Actors in the Store by keywords.
fetch-actor-detailsRead an Actor's input schema, README, and pricing before running it.
call-actorRun an Actor with a JSON input, optionally with maxItems and maxTotalChargeUsd.
get-actor-runWait for a run and check its status.
get-actor-outputRead a run's results, paged and kept compact.

The full list, including saved inputs and automations, is on the MCP server page. To run one Actor you already know, name it in the question, for example Run username/actor-name, so the assistant skips the search.

For Claude Code, add the server with one command: see Claude Code.

To run the local server instead, add it to claude_desktop_config.json as shown on the MCP server page.

Costs: runs started by the assistant are billed like any run. Put the limits in the question (such as "at most 20 results"): an OAuth sign-in has no daily spending cap.
