You pay $0.70 per 1,000 jobs saved ($0.0007 per job). There is no start fee. Platform usage (compute and proxy traffic) is billed separately and is small: the actor runs at 256 MB by default.
Worked example, measured on test runs at 256 MB:
| Jobs saved | Result fees | Platform usage | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | $0.007 | about $0.001 | about $0.008 |
| 50 | $0.035 | about $0.0012 | about $0.036 |
| 1,000 | $0.70 | about $0.01 | about $0.71 |
With Fetch full job descriptions on, or for single job URLs, each job page is loaded through the residential proxy (job pages refuse datacenter addresses), which adds roughly 0.1 MB of residential traffic per job to the platform usage.
Recommended filler jobs that are skipped, retries, and empty searches are never charged as results.
You can cap spending with the run's maximum charge setting; the scraper stops cleanly when the limit is reached.
Is scraping StepStone legal? The actor reads only public job listings that anyone can see without an account. Make sure your use of the data follows StepStone's terms, GDPR, and the laws that apply to you, and do not republish full listings without permission.
Do I need a StepStone account or my own proxy? No. No login is needed, and the built-in datacenter proxy is used by default.
Why do I get fewer jobs than the number StepStone shows?
When a search has few matches, StepStone pads the page with recommended jobs that do not match your filters (section semantic or recommended). Those are skipped by default. Turn on Include recommended jobs to keep them. Also check Maximum jobs.
Why is the salary empty for some jobs?
Many employers do not publish a salary. When StepStone shows an estimate, unifiedSalary.salaryType is Predicted.
How do I get the full job description? Turn on Fetch full job descriptions, or paste single job URLs into Start URLs.
Can I schedule it or use the API? Yes. Save the input as a task, schedule it daily, and read the dataset through the API or an integration.
Moving from another StepStone scraper?
The input names (startUrls, keyword, location, country, category, postedWithin, includeRelatedJobs, maxItems) and the output fields follow the common StepStone search scraper format, so most existing inputs work unchanged. maxItems is a total for the whole run, and url is a full link.
postCode is often empty unless full descriptions are fetched.Every field below can be set in the run form, passed through the API, or saved as a task. Unset fields fall back to the defaults shown.
keywordstringOptionalKeyword
Job title, skill, or company to search for, for example `software entwickler` or `python`. Used when Start URLs is empty.
locationstringOptionalLocation
City or region, for example `berlin`, `muenchen`, or `wien`. Leave empty to search the whole country.
startUrlsarrayOptionalStart URLs
StepStone search result URLs (with any filters you set on the site) or single job URLs. When you add URLs, the keyword, location, country, category, and date settings are not used.
maxItemsintegerOptionaldefault 20Maximum jobs
Maximum number of jobs to save across all searches and URLs in this run.
postedWithinenumOptionaldefault "all"Date posted
Only jobs posted within this period. Used with the keyword or category search.
includeRelatedJobsbooleanOptionaldefault falseInclude recommended jobs
When a search has few matches, StepStone fills the page with recommended jobs that do not match your filters. They are skipped unless you turn this on.
countryenumOptionaldefault "de"Country
Which StepStone site to search with the keyword or category. With Start URLs, the site in each URL is used.
categorystringOptionalCategory
Category slug from a StepStone URL such as `stepstone.de/jobs/verwaltung`, for example `verwaltung` or `it`. Used only when Keyword and Start URLs are empty. Defaults to `verwaltung`.
fetchDetailsbooleanOptionaldefault falseFetch full job descriptions
Open each job page and add the full description, employment type, industry, street address, coordinates, and expiry date. Slower, because one more page is loaded per job. Job pages refuse datacenter proxies, so they go through the residential proxy (about 0.1 MB per job).
proxyConfigurationobjectOptionaldefault {"useScrapelyProxy":true,"scrapelyProxyGroups":["DATACENTER…Proxy configuration
Datacenter proxies work for StepStone and are the default. Switch to residential only if requests are refused.
Every run writes its results to a dataset. Preview it in the dashboard, then export it or read it through the API.
