🚀 How to use

1. Paste one or more carsales URLs into Search or listing URLs, for example https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/toyota/corolla/ — or leave it empty and fill in the Search filters (make, model, state, price, year…).
2. Set Maximum listings (20 by default; 0 means no limit).
3. Keep Full listing details on for complete records, or switch it off for faster, cheaper search-card data.
4. Click Start and wait for the run to finish.
5. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them through the API.

💰 Pricing

You pay per saved listing:

• Full record (details on): $1.20 per 1,000 listings.
• Search card (details off): $0.75 per 1,000 listings.

Platform usage (proxy traffic and compute) is billed on top at normal rates. Listing pages are large, so each full record also uses about 0.8 MB of datacenter proxy traffic. Measured on real runs:

• 1,000 full records ≈ $1.20 in listing fees + about $0.83 usage ≈ $2.03
• 1,000 search cards ≈ $0.75 in listing fees + under $0.01 usage ≈ $0.76

Rows are only charged when they are saved, and a run never goes over the maximum cost you set.

❓ FAQ

Is it legal to scrape carsales? The scraper reads public listing pages that anyone can open without an account. Check that your use of the data, especially personal data such as seller phone numbers, follows Australian privacy law and carsales' terms.

Do I need a carsales login or my own proxy? No. Nothing needs a login, and the built-in datacenter proxy works. If carsales starts refusing those addresses, the run moves to Australian residential proxies by itself.

How many results can I get? As many as the search has. carsales only pages through roughly 300 results per search, so bigger searches are split into price bands automatically. A search for every car in Australia is possible but large; narrow it with filters when you can.

Why is a field empty? Fields only show up when the listing has them: many dealers hide the plate or VIN, private sellers often have no stock number, and specs depend on carsales matching the car to a Redbook entry. With details off, only the search-card fields are filled.

Why does "Used" include demo cars? That is how carsales files them: demonstrators sit under used cars, and their condition field says Demo.

Can I schedule it or use the API? Yes. Save the input as a task, schedule it, and read results through the API or webhooks.

⚠️ Limits

• Cars only (no bikes, boats, trucks or caravans).
• Dealer business names are not included; dealers are identified by sellerId, location, phone and number of active listings.
• Private sellers' phone numbers are carsales' forwarding numbers, as shown on the site.
• Free-text keyword search and postcode-radius searches are not offered as filters.
• When a big search is split by price, the chosen sort order applies within each price band.
• recordDate is the date carsales attaches to the record, which is not always the date the ad went live.
