🚀 How to use

1. Open Gumtree, run a search with your filters (for example private cars in Manchester between £1,000 and £3,000) and copy the URL. Or skip this and type keywords into Search terms.
2. Paste the URL into Gumtree URLs. You can add many URLs; single ad URLs work too.
3. For search terms, pick the Country site and optionally a Location, Category, price range, seller type and sort order.
4. Set Max results per search.
5. Click Start, then download the ads as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them through the API.

💰 Pricing

You pay $1.00 per 1,000 ads ($0.001 per ad), with full details included. Platform usage (compute and proxy traffic) is billed separately and is small: the actor uses plain HTTP requests, no browser. Example: 1,000 ads with full details cost $1.00 plus a few cents of usage.

❓ FAQ

Is it legal to scrape Gumtree? The actor only reads public ads that anyone can see without logging in. It collects the seller details Gumtree shows publicly on each ad, but never reveals hidden phone numbers. You are responsible for how you use the data; check the laws that apply to you (for example GDPR in the UK) and Gumtree's terms.

Do I need a Gumtree account or a proxy? No account and no login. The default datacenter proxy works for all three sites; if a site starts refusing those connections, the run switches that site to residential connections by itself.

How many results can I get? Up to your limit per search, within what each Gumtree site lists for one search: about 1,400 ads on Gumtree UK, 10,000 on Gumtree Australia and 375 on Gumtree South Africa. Add more searches (split by location, category or price) to go further; the run tells you when a search hits the site's ceiling and how many ads match in total.

Why are some fields empty? Not every site shows every field: exact posted dates come from Australia and South Africa, the UK shows a relative age ("3 days ago"); view counts exist for Australia and South Africa; coordinates and full attributes need Include full ad details. Empty means the ad or site did not provide it.

Can I run it on a schedule or through the API? Yes. Schedule it in the console or start it through the API, and get the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML.

Can I filter by seller type? Yes, private or trade. On Gumtree South Africa the seller type is only known from the ad page, so the run opens ads to check it.

⚠️ Limits

• Hidden phone numbers are not revealed and seller contact actions (reveal phone, messages) are not used; sellerHasPhone only says whether a number is offered.
• One search returns at most what the site lists: about 1,400 ads on Gumtree UK, 10,000 on Gumtree Australia, 375 on Gumtree South Africa.
• Australian keyword searches take a state, a capital city or a numeric location id; for any other place, paste a Gumtree Australia search URL.
• Australian categories are numeric ids (from the URL); UK categories are URL slugs.
• Filters set inside a pasted URL that the site's app does not support are skipped with a warning in the log.
