Is it legal to scrape Kickstarter? The scraper reads only public project pages that anyone can open without an account. Check Kickstarter's terms and your local law for how you use the data, and do not collect personal data you have no reason to keep.
Do I need a login or my own proxy? No. No account is needed. The built-in residential proxy is preselected because Kickstarter's Cloudflare protection blocks datacenter IPs; you pay only for the few kilobytes each project needs.
How many results can I get? Kickstarter's discover pages stop after 2,400 projects for one search ordering. When a search has more matches, the scraper reads it again in other orderings (newest, end date, most funded, most backed, popularity, magic) and skips duplicates, which reaches several thousand projects. For complete coverage of a huge set, split it with categories, locations or status filters.
Why is a field empty? Kickstarter fills fields only when they apply: successful_at exists only for funded projects, video only when the creator uploaded one, and upcoming projects have no pledges yet. With Full project details off, the reward, tag, video, comment and update fields are left out.
Can I schedule it or use the API? Yes. Save your input as a task, schedule it, and read the dataset over the API or with webhooks.
usd_pledged with its own exchange rate; pledged is in the project's currency.Every field below can be set in the run form, passed through the API, or saved as a task. Unset fields fall back to the defaults shown.
