Is it legal to scrape AmbitionBox? The actor reads only public pages that anyone can open without an account. Reviews are anonymous. Check AmbitionBox's terms and your local data protection rules (such as India's DPDP Act or the GDPR) for how you store and use the data.
Do I need an AmbitionBox account or my own proxy? No. No login is used. AmbitionBox shows a security check to most visitors from outside India, so the actor uses Indian residential proxies by default. Keep that setting.
How many results can I get? Reviews: AmbitionBox lists at most 500 pages (10,000 reviews) per listing. When you ask for more, the actor reads each star rating as its own listing, in two orders, to go further. Salaries: every designation the site lists (up to about 3,000 for the largest employers) plus up to 50 recent submissions. Interviews: see Limits.
Why are some fields empty?
AmbitionBox shows what the reviewer filled in. likes, dislikes, work days or travel can be missing on short reviews, and workExperience, workDescription and benefits are rarely shown on review listings. The actor never invents values.
Can I schedule it or use the API?
Yes. Schedule runs in the console, or start runs and read datasets through the API, the CLI or MCP. For monitoring, use reviewSort: "latest" with reviewsNewerThan: "1 day".
Which URLs work?
/reviews/<company>-reviews (also with /<designation>, /<city>-location or filters such as ?sort_by=latest), /salaries/<company>-salaries, /interviews/<company>-interview-questions (or -interviews, also with /<designation>) and /overview/<company>-overview.
/jobs/...) are not covered./salaries/<company>-salaries/<designation>) are read as the company's salaries.Every field below can be set in the run form, passed through the API, or saved as a task. Unset fields fall back to the defaults shown.
startUrlsarrayOptionalCompanies or AmbitionBox URLs
One per line. Use a company name (Tata Consultancy Services), its AmbitionBox slug (tcs, infosys, wipro) or a company URL. Names and slugs get the sections chosen below. A URL decides its own section: /reviews/tcs-reviews (also with a designation, location or filters), /salaries/tcs-salaries, /interviews/tcs-interview-questions or /overview/tcs-overview.
maxItemsintegerOptionaldefault 20Max items per company and list
How many reviews, salary designations or interview experiences to save per company and section. The salaries and interviews sections also save one summary row, up to this many recent salary submissions (the site shows 50) and top interview questions. 0 means no limit. AmbitionBox shows at most 500 pages of reviews per listing; for bigger companies the run reads each star rating separately to go further.
sectionsarrayOptionaldefault ["reviews"]Sections for company names and slugs
What to scrape for each company name or slug. URLs keep their own section.
reviewSortenumOptionaldefault "relevance"Review order
Order of the reviews. Applies to review URLs that do not set their own order.
reviewRatingsarrayOptionalOnly these star ratings
Keep only reviews with these overall ratings. Leave empty for all ratings.

A date (2026-01-31) or a span (7 days, 3 months, 1 year). Reviews are then read latest first and the run stops at the first older page.
includeCompanyAggregatebooleanOptionaldefault trueAdd company ratings to each review
Adds the company's overall rating, all sub-ratings, star distribution, work culture and work policy split to every review row, so a CSV export needs no join.
enrichEmailsbooleanOptionaldefault falseFind a contact email on each company's website
Opens each company's own website (home page and a few contact and about pages) and adds the best public contact email it finds as contactEmail, plus up to 5 more as contactEmails and the site as contactWebsite. Charged once per company, only when an email is found.
proxyobjectOptionaldefault {"useScrapelyProxy":true,"scrapelyProxyGroups":["RESIDENTIA…Proxy configuration
AmbitionBox shows a security check to most addresses outside India, so Indian residential proxies are the default. With any other choice the run switches to Indian residential addresses when it is refused.
Every run writes its results to a dataset. Preview it in the dashboard, then export it or read it through the API.
