✨ Why use Freelancer.com Scraper?

  • ⚡ Fast — reads the site's own search and project data directly; 20 projects arrive in a few seconds, 1,000 in about 15 seconds in our test runs.
  • 💵 Budgets you can compare — every budget and average bid comes in the project's own currency and converted to USD at the site's rate.
  • 📝 Full descriptions — the complete project brief, not the 100-character teaser from the search page.
  • ✅ Client quality signals — payment-verified badge on every project, plus optional client location, rating, reviews, member-since date and verifications.
  • 🎯 Precise filters — fixed or hourly, USD budget range, min/max bids, posted within N hours, payment-verified only, project language.
  • 🔓 No login needed — only public data, nothing to configure.

🎯 Use cases

  • 🔔 Opportunity alerts — schedule a run every hour for "posted within 2 hours, under 20 bids, payment verified" and pipe new projects to Slack or email.
  • 🏢 Agency prospecting — find clients who keep posting work in your niche (Shopify, SEO, mobile apps) and see their budgets and verification status.
  • 📊 Market and pricing research — compare budgets and average bids per skill, currency and project type.
  • 🧠 Skill demand tracking — count which skills and categories appear most in new projects week over week.
  • 🧪 Competition analysis — see how many bids projects attract and how the average bid relates to the budget.

💰 Pricing

  • $0.70 per 1,000 projects ($0.0007 per project).
  • Client details add-on: $1.00 per 1,000 projects (only when you turn it on and the client box could be read).
  • Platform usage (compute and proxy traffic) is billed on top and is tiny for this actor: well under a cent for 1,000 projects in our test runs.
  • Example: 1,000 projects ≈ $0.70 plus usage; with client details ≈ $1.70 plus usage.

❓ FAQ

Is it legal to scrape Freelancer.com? The actor reads only public project listings that anyone can see without an account. You are responsible for how you use the data; check the site's terms and your local laws, especially for personal data.

Do I need a Freelancer.com account or a proxy? No login. The default US datacenter proxy works; if the site ever refuses it, the run switches to US residential exits by itself.

How many projects can I get? As many as the site lists for your search. Freelancer.com usually shows a few thousand open projects in total, a few hundred per popular keyword. Set maxResults to 0 for everything.

Why is a field empty? Fields appear only when the project publishes them: hourly fields are empty for fixed-price projects, location fields only exist for local (on-site) projects, and bidAvgText / budgetUsdText come from the search table and are empty for project links (the numeric USD fields are always filled).

Are contests included? No. The actor returns projects only; contests are skipped.

Can I schedule it or use the API? Yes. Schedule runs (e.g. hourly with postedWithinHours: 2) and fetch results through the API or integrations.

⚠️ Limits

  • Contests, closed private projects and projects hidden from logged-out visitors are not returned (they are counted as "no longer public" in the status message).
  • Client names and bidder details are not collected; the client box gives location, rating, reviews and verifications only.
  • Budget filters use USD values converted at the site's exchange rate; hourly and fixed budgets are compared on the same number (rate vs. total).
  • Category links (e.g. /jobs/websites-it-software/) search every skill of that category, so they honour sortBy and the filters.
  • Job links whose skill or category freelancer.com does not know (a typo, or a page like /jobs/united-states/ that the site answers with all jobs) are skipped and reported in the status message instead of returning unrelated projects.
