✨ Why use Cars.com Scraper?

  • ⚡ Fast: reads Cars.com's own structured data instead of rendering pages; about 1,000 detailed listings in roughly 35 seconds in our tests.
  • 🧾 Complete records: 100+ fields per car, including price history, Cars.com market price, good/great deal thresholds, days on market and seller notes.
  • 🏪 Real dealer data: dealer name, full address, coordinates, rating, review count, website, opening hours and every phone number Cars.com lists, by department.
  • 🛡️ Vehicle history signals: no accidents, one owner, clean title, personal use, plus the AutoCheck/Carfax report link when the dealer provides one.
  • 🔋 EV ready: battery range score, expected range, EPA range, MPGe and charging times for electric cars.
  • 💸 Cheap: a simple per-listing price, and the default datacenter proxy is enough.

🎯 Use cases

  • 📈 Price monitoring: track list prices, price drops and days on market for the models you sell or buy.
  • 🏬 Dealer intelligence: map competitor inventory by dealer, city or radius, with addresses and phones.
  • 🔍 Deal hunting: find cars priced below the Cars.com market price, with clean history and one owner.
  • 📊 Market research: depreciation, mileage and pricing by make, model, trim, year and region.
  • 🔋 Used-EV analysis: compare battery health and range across used electric cars.
  • 🤖 Apps and AI agents: feed a car-shopping app, a comparison tool or a data warehouse with stable listing ids.

💰 Pricing

You pay $0.50 per 1,000 listings ($0.0005 per listing), with or without full details. A run of 1,000 detailed listings therefore costs about $0.50 plus a few cents of platform usage (compute and datacenter proxy traffic, billed separately at the platform rates). There is no start fee, and a run stops cleanly when your maximum total charge is reached.

❓ FAQ

Is it legal to scrape Cars.com? The actor only collects publicly visible listing data. You are responsible for how you use it; check Cars.com's terms and the laws that apply to you, especially for personal data.

Do I need a login, cookies or my own proxy? No. The default datacenter proxy works. You can switch to residential in the proxy settings if you ever need to.

How many results can I get? Cars.com shows at most 10,000 listings per search. For more, split your search (by price band, year range, make or radius) or add several URLs; duplicates across searches are removed automatically.

Why is a field empty? Not every listing has every field: history flags only exist when the dealer shares a report, MSRP mostly on new cars, EV fields only on electric cars. With Fetch full details off, only the search-card fields are filled.

Are the phone numbers real? They are the numbers Cars.com publishes for the dealer, labelled by department. Cars.com often shows tracking numbers that forward to the dealership.

Can I schedule runs or use the API? Yes. Schedule the actor for daily price tracking, and fetch results via the API or webhooks in any format.

⚠️ Limits

  • 10,000 listings per search (a Cars.com limit); split larger searches.
  • US listings only (Cars.com is a US marketplace).
  • No monthly payment estimates, open-recall flags or full vehicle-history reports (only the summary flags and report link).
  • Private-seller listings show only the seller's first name, last initial and city.
