💰 Pricing

$0.0025 per review ($2.50 per 1,000 reviews). Platform usage is billed on top at standard rates: compute $0.30 per GB-hour, residential proxy $2 per GB.

Worked example: 10 reviews cost 10 × $0.0025 = $0.025 in review fees. With platform usage (about 0.4 MB of residential traffic plus compute at the default 256 MB), a 10-review job comes to about $0.027.

❓ FAQ

Is it legal to scrape Tripadvisor reviews?

The actor reads public review pages. You are responsible for following Tripadvisor's terms and data protection laws such as GDPR, especially for reviewer information.

Do I need a login or my own proxy?

No login. Residential proxies are used by default, since Tripadvisor refuses datacenter addresses, and proxy traffic is billed per GB.

How many reviews can I get?

As many as the place has, up to the number you set. Newest reviews are read first.

What if a field is empty?

Fields such as ownerResponse, photos, or subratings are empty when the review has none. Turning off reviewer profiles returns a null user.

What happens with a wrong URL?

An invalid place URL is skipped and the run still succeeds with no rows for it.

Can I schedule it or use the API?

Yes. Use Schedules for recurring runs or call the REST API and read the dataset in any format.

⚠️ Limits

  • Input is a place page (hotel, restaurant, or attraction) URL. The actor does not search by name or list a city.
  • Ten thousand reviews (5 places) take about 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Tripadvisor filters one review language at a time; the first known language in the list is used.
  • Each run clears a bot-check once before reading, so a 10-review run takes noticeably longer than a simple scrape.
  • The star histogram in placeInfo is live and changes as new reviews arrive.
  • Residential traffic is required, which makes cost per run a little higher than datacenter-based actors.
  • Keeping the original language loads one extra request per place.
