You pay $0.20 per 1,000 properties ($0.0002 per saved property), plus platform usage (compute and proxy traffic).
Measured on real runs with full property pages at the default 512 MB:
| Job | Properties | Platform usage | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Houston + Chicago searches | 1,000 | ≈ $0.10 (8.5 min compute, 0.08 GB datacenter traffic) | ≈ $0.30 |
| Large-city mix (New York, Los Angeles, ...) | 1,000 | ≈ $0.29 (heavier pages, about 0.27 GB traffic) | ≈ $0.49 |
Summary mode (property pages off) uses far less traffic and time. Empty searches and pages that fail to load are never charged. If you pick the residential proxy group yourself, its traffic is billed at the residential rate, so stay on datacenter unless it is blocked for you.
Is it legal? The actor reads public pages only. You are responsible for how you use the data, including privacy laws in your country.
Do I need a login or my own proxy? No. The built-in proxy is used by default.
How many results can I get? Apartments.com shows up to about 700 properties per search. For more, split a city into ZIP codes or neighborhoods and add them all as start URLs.
Why is a field empty? Not every property publishes every section. Some smaller listings have no fees, ratings or floor plan prices.
Can I schedule it or use the API? Yes. Schedule runs in the console or start them through the API and fetch the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel.
Every field below can be set in the run form, passed through the API, or saved as a task. Unset fields fall back to the defaults shown.
startUrlsarrayOptionalStart URLs
Apartments.com search result URLs (a city, ZIP, neighborhood or filtered search, e.g. https://www.apartments.com/austin-tx/ or https://www.apartments.com/apartments/miami-fl/student-housing/) or property URLs (e.g. https://www.apartments.com/edison-austin-austin-tx/40n18nj/).
searchstringOptionalSearch by location
A US city, ZIP code, neighborhood or county, like on the Apartments.com home page (e.g. 'Miami, FL' or '10001'). Put several on separate lines.
maxItemsintegerOptionaldefault 20Maximum number of properties
Stop after this many properties in total. 0 means no limit.
endPageintegerOptionalLast search page
Stop each search at this results page (40 properties per page). Empty means all pages.
scrapeDetailsbooleanOptionaldefault trueOpen every property page
On: full details for each property (floor plans and units, fees and pet policy, amenities, schools, transit, photos, scores). Off: only the data on the search result cards, which is much faster.
includeVirtualToursbooleanOptionaldefault falseInclude virtual tour links
Adds the 3D and virtual tour links found on the property page.
proxyConfigurationobjectOptionaldefault {"useScrapelyProxy":true,"scrapelyProxyGroups":["DATACENTER…Proxy configuration
Proxy used to reach Apartments.com. The run starts on datacenter and switches to residential US by itself if the site blocks datacenter.
Every run writes its results to a dataset. Preview it in the dashboard, then export it or read it through the API.
